작가노트
무의식은 우리가 의식하지 않아도 늘 함께 존재하며, 의도적으로 분리하려 해도 결코 떼어낼 수 없는 영역이다. 시간과 감정, 상황에 따라 의식은 변화하지만 무의식은 여전히 알 수 없는 상태로 남아 있다. 마음은 이해한 듯하다가도 다시 멀어지는, 끝없이 확장되는 존재이다.
나는 이러한 마음에 대한 관심에서 출발해, 무의식에 대한 탐험과 우연과 필연의 의도된 의식이 만나는 지점을 작업으로 풀 어내고자 했다 계획된 이미지보다는 무의식적인 행위와 직관에 따라 드러나는 형태와 색을 따라가며, 그 과정에서 익살스러움과 예상치 못한 재미를 발견한다. 때로는 낯설고 기이한 모습으로, 때로는 아주 평범한 풍경처럼 다가오는 순간들 속에 서 다양한 의미를 읽어낸다.
소박한 색채와 익숙한 선, 단순한 형태들은 자연의 풍경이자 마음의 풍경으로 변주되고, 작은 레이어와 콜라주된 화면들은 서로 어우러지며 재탄생하고, 그 안에서 꿈의 공간과 상상의 이야기가 전개된다. 어린 시절의 기억과 현재의 경험과 바람들, 그리고 아직 오지 않은 미래의 희망들은 한 화면 안에서 마치 오케스트라처럼 울려 퍼진다. 다음에는 또 어떤 꿈의 마을이 펼쳐질지, 나의 무의식은 이미 알고 있을 것이라 믿는다.
