Small.Prompt. 햇살처럼

나에게 그림을 그리는 일은 꽃밭에 꽃을 심고 물을 주고 햇볕을 보게 하는 일과 같다. 자연의 변화와 그 안에서 느껴지는 생명의 탄생과 일상, 그리고 소중함을 주제로 작업하고 있다.

그림은 나의 빈곳을 채우고, 내 안의 생명을 돌보는 일이다. 내 안에 있는 상상과 감정도 서서히 형체를 갖추며 캔버스 위에 펼쳐진다. 이러한 소중한 작업이 가능했던 것은 존경하는 선생님과 여러 교수님, 그리고 학우들과 함께 그림 그리는 동료들, 가족, 친구들까지 격려하고 응원해 주는 많은 분들이 있기 때문이다.

사랑스런 꽃을 심고 따스한 햇빛을 보며 자라나는 이 꽃들이 마침내 아름다운 꽃밭이 되는 모습을 바라볼 때마다, 나는 늘 환희와 희열에 차고 감사한 마음으로 가득 찬다. 이 전시를 통해 내가 느꼈던 불안과 결핍, 그리고 작은 희망과 사랑을 방문한 분들과 나누고 싶고, 나의 작업 속에서 빛을 발하고, 다른 이들에게도 잔잔한 위로와 따뜻 한 온기를 전할 수 있기를 희망한다.

I want to deliver this story in easily simple words that can be expressed from my mind. My painting is such like watering flowers in the garden and letting them grow with sunlights. I have been working with various natural changes, and with feelings derived from the inside of important themes of precious new life and daily life.

Painting is like a filling of my empty spirits with an artistic conversion  taking care of my life. The enormous imagination and emotions inside of me gradually shape up and unfold on my canvas. This kind of precious work made me possible because I was lucky to have many people who always encouraged me, colleagues in the art class, family members, and art teachers and professors whom I respected.

Whenever I watch these loverly growing flowers are finally turned into beautiful gardens nourished by warm sunlight, I am always thankful with full of my  joy and excitement. In this exhibition, I want to share my anxiety, immaturity, small hope and love with visitors. I hope to be shiny in my artwork, and want to convey my calm comfort and warmth to others.
